Director

Siddharth is the founder of Binnacle Legal. He is dual qualified in India and England & Wales. He has a LLM in Maritime Law from the University of Southampton.

Siddharth has about 17 years of experience having worked seven years cumulatively at law firms in India and Singapore, and over a decade as in-house counsel for leading shipping and commodity companies. The experience of working with law firms and as in-house counsel gives him invaluable insight in a solution-oriented approach balancing the legal and commercial needs for clients, while also being cost effective.

Siddharth has handled a diverse range of contentious and non-contentious matters. These include advising, drafting and negotiating commodity sale contracts, ship sale purchase, charterparties and other shipping and commercial contracts. He is also experienced with contentious disputes in court, alternative dispute forums and arbitrations subject to the rules of LMAA, SCMA, ICC, SIAC, ICA, NDFTA and UNCITRAL.

Siddharth is an empaneled arbitrator with the Indian Council of Arbitration and a LMAA supporting member.

Senior Associate

Osama is a registered Indian lawyer and a Senior Associate at Binnacle Legal. He is enrolled as an Advocate with the Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa. In his role, he divides his time between India and the UAE, supporting the firm’s growing presence across both regions.

Osama’s practice focuses on maritime and admiralty law, with over half a decade of experience across both dry and wet shipping matters. He has advised clients in private practice as well as in his capacity as in house counsel with leading organisations in the maritime sector. His experience spans a wide range of shipping claims and disputes, including charterparties, bills of lading, containers, crew claims, maritime casualties and security actions including ship arrest.

In addition to handling contentious matters before Indian courts and arbitration, Osama’s in house experience gives him a strong understanding of the commercial and operational realities of the shipping industry. This dual perspective enables him to provide pragmatic, commercially aligned legal advice tailored to client requirements.

Osama has also advised on trade sanctions, embargoes and compliance related issues. His work further includes matters outside the maritime domain, such as constitutional and criminal proceedings involving white collar offences and statutory violations.
